Assurance is about much more than just about the numbers and complying with reporting standards. As a member of the Assurance team, you’ll spend the majority of your time at the client’s workplace. It is your job to gain a full view of every aspect of your client’s business through the numbers; to understand their story, accomplishments, and aspirations. Actuarial is about much more than just the numbers, you will be involved in a broad range of things including calculating life insurance, pensions, and analytics. As a member of the Actuarial team, you’ll be working as a trusted advisor for your clients and thinking “outside the box” to create innovative insights & solutions. You will need to use your curiosity and your excellent statistical analysis skills to get to the bottom of an issue. Despite the title, it is not just the Big Corporates that you will be working with. In fact, you will spend most of your time working with SME’s who make up the lion’s share of the New Zealand business market. Deloitte Corporate Finance specializes in providing a range of advice to our clients including selling or buying a business, raising debt or equity finance.  Your purpose as a member of the team is to provide creative solutions and ideas for the future of your client’s business assisting them at critical times where fast decision-making is required. You will work with your clients to find solutions to questions like: What is the value of a business? How can we grow the value of a company? What is the best strategic option available to us?

You will likely be involved in multiple projects during your first year, working with different teams
We are always working across different teams and projects, so we dedicate time to ensure everyone is staying connected through ‘Fly home Friday’ every month. Through this we dedicate a day to coming together as a team, catching up on different projects we have all been working on, sharing knowledge, and developing our skills.

We work from different locations and encourage flexible working
You are provided with an iPhone and laptop when you join so you are able to easily work from different locations. With COVID-19, we encourage our team to work from a location where they feel most comfortable and what suits the client.

You will have opportunities to develop useful skills
With the biggest consulting practise in New Zealand we get to work on a huge variety of projects with lots of different people. We look for graduates that come from diverse backgrounds – including arts, medicine, science, engineering, law, technology and digital design so we are always learning from each other.
