Goodman Fielder New Zealand is headquartered in the heart of Auckland CBD. We have 12 manufacturing sites in New Zealand and employ 1700 people. Our local team produces a wide range of high-quality dairy, baked and grocery items for Kiwis.

Goodman Fielder often has the largest share of market across our key product offerings compete. We are supported by a large scale, efficient distribution network that enables delivery of our products to over 30,000 outlets daily, including supermarkets, route outlets and food service customers.

Our products and ingredients cover every meal occasion, including breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. We produce and market: rice, flour, oil, bakery fats, sugar, bread, milk, margarine, flour, dressings, condiments, mayonnaise, frozen pastry, cake mix, desserts, sauces, vinegar and cooking oils.

Headquartered in Sydney, Goodman Fielder employs over 5,000 people in Australasia and the Pacific Islands. We manufacture our products in more than 40 plants in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and New Caledonia. This, coupled with an efficient distribution network, means we can get our products to our customers and consumers efficiently, with speed and to the highest standard of quality.

The Early Careers Program

The Early Careers Program is a full-time employment opportunity open for talented early career professionals who will become our future leaders. Operating in the FMCG industry means no two days are the same. The pace is fast, the work is diverse and the various functions need to work together to ensure our products delight our consumers and customers every day in Retail, Route Retail, Foodservice and industrial channels.

Our Early Careers Program provides participants with unique experience, growth and career prospects. As a participant you will:
  • Join one of the largest international FMCG organisations across Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Islands;
  • Have a structured but flexible roadmap for the program, sponsored by a senior leader to ensure a meaningful learning journey;
  • Experience our business end-to-end, learning how teams work together to make everyday food better for everyone;
  • Work on meaningful projects with the support of a manager, mentor and buddy;
  • Have time out from your work and projects to learn more about our business;
  • Participate in regular training and development days to build your people and technical capabilities; and. Be offered a permanednt role at the end of the program.

Our Selection Criteria:

  • You will have graduated recently (within the last two years) or graduating with a degree
  • Be eligible to work in New Zealand
  • Be flexible to relocate within New Zealand
  • Preferably have a degree in one of the following disciplines:

What attracted you to the Goodman Fielder Early Careers program?

The chance to work with a diverse range of well-known NZ brands that Kiwi’s use every day excited me and was one of the many reasons I was attracted to Goodman Fielder.

What have you enjoyed most about the Early Careers program?

The opportunity to gain exposure to different functions across the business. One year into the program I have completed two different rotations within Supply Chain and have now started my third rotation in Sales, helping me to widen my business knowledge and skills.

What do you think makes Goodman Fielder a great place to work?

The continuous support I have been given. Leaving University and stepping into the program has been a great way to transition into the working world due to the different people including my mentor, program lead and sponsor I able to approach for advice or just a friendly face to talk to.

Any advice for someone who is considering applying for the Early Careers program?

If you enjoy working in a changing environment, where the work is diverse and no two days are the same, then Goodman Fielder is a great choice for you.

What attracted you to the Goodman Fielder Early Careers program?

I was drawn to the Program Roadmap and the emphasis it had on purpose driven projects. It was clear that time and effort had gone into ensuring we could both learn and add value through our transition from graduates to fully capable staff.

What have you enjoyed most about the Early Careers program?

The opportunity to work cross-functionally. As graduates we are breaking the silo walls by jumping from one project to the next, taking our network with us.

What do you think makes Goodman Fielder a great place to work?

I have yet to meet a single person at Goodman Fielder who I don’t like, can’t work with, or isn’t willing to help. It seems that everyone is genuine and approachable and that, in my opinion, makes the GF workforce a true Unicorn.

Any advice for someone who is considering applying for the Early Careers program?

Google growth mindset and go for it!
