Chartered Accountant ANZ Achiever programme provides penultimate and final year tertiary students studying accounting an opportunity to apply for valuable paid* work experience with one of the participating employers during the winter and summer breaks.

Who is eligible to apply for the Achiever Programme?
  • Penultimate and final year** students who are undertaking tertiary studies in accounting.
  • Students must be studying either in Australia or New Zealand.
  • This programme is offered exclusively to the Chartered Accountants ANZ student affiliate community. If you are not a student affiliate, register now to be eligible to apply for the Achiever programme. Sign up to become a Student Affiliate today.

Scholarships (New Zealand)

Chartered Accountants ANZ is proud to provide multiple scholarships* for tertiary students and students committed to the CA program in New Zealand:

Pacific Scholarships:
With a vision of increasing the number of accountants of Pacific heritage, Chartered Accountants ANZ is proud to offer two scholarships to tertiary students.
  • Accounting scholarship for Pacific students living in New Zealand Aotearoa
  • Accounting scholarship for Pacific student residing across the Pacific Islands
These scholarships of up to $NZ 5,000 each will assist students to progress their studies in accounting by providing financial support towards their tuition fees and course related costs.

Ted Delahunty Leadership Award:
Through partnering with the Ted Delahunty Trust, Chartered Accountants ANZ offers a NZ$10,000 Award to a CA provisional member residing and working in regional New Zealand.

Craig Norgate Scholarships:
These legacy scholarships are being offered to two CA Provisional members to support them setting out on their careers as Chartered Accountants.

There are two annual scholarships available, each valued at NZ $5,000 each.
  • The Craig Norgate New Zealand Memorial Scholarship
  • The Craig Norgate Taranaki Memorial Scholarship

Virtual Internships

Chartered Accountants ANZ's virtual internship with Forage is an interactive online work experience program designed to give you a taste of the knowledge and skills you'll need to drive business decisions as a Chartered Accountant.

Through these fully virtual internships, you will not only be exposed to the typical duties of an accounting professional, you will gain insight into how Chartered Accountants use their skills and role as trusted advisors to help organisations prepare for and thrive in the future.

Empowering difference makers

The CA Program can equip you with the skills and confidence to solve complex business challenges effectively, ethically, and creatively. Chartered Accountants develop unique perspectives alongside exceptional technical expertise that can empower them to drive business decisions to help create better societies, communities and economies.

The CA Program

The new CA Program is structured in two parts: the Graduate Diploma of Chartered Accounting (GradDipCA) – consists of nine subjects (seven core and two electives), in conjunction with three years of Mentored Practical Experience (MPE).*

Upon successful completion of the CA Program, you will have the knowledge and skills to:
  • Demonstrate advanced accounting knowledge required to practise as an accountant across a range of enterprises, sectors, and jurisdictions
  • Analyse data and critically evaluate technology to support professional practice as a Chartered Accountant.
  • Communicate appropriately with stakeholders concerning complex accounting and finance matters.
  • Collaborate effectively to achieve high-level outcomes.
  • Integrate advanced technical, business and professional knowledge and skills to generate advice, make decisions or recommend solutions for authentic business problems.
  • Apply critical thinking and professional scepticism in professional practice as a Chartered Accountant.
  • Evaluate and respond appropriately to complex ethical issues that impact the individual, the organisation, the profession, and society.
  • Reflect on your own practice to support continuous improvement and respond to change.
