A united vision for health
Habit Health brings together healthcare providers from complementary disciplines. We've integrated rehabilitation services from Habit Rehabilitation, Southern Rehab, Shore Physio, Quality Rehabilitation Services (QRS), and Physio Rehab Group (PRG). Occupational health providers include OK Health, Nelson Nursing and Work Recovery. We also offer counselling services from the Employee Assistance Program (EAP). Finally, our gyms, Habit Health + Fitness Clubs, bring us full-circle, offering a holistic approach to wellness and exercise for life-long health.

Scholarship programme 2022 – Applications have closed

Applications for the 2022 Scholarship programme have now closed,  keep an eye out for updates here or send us an email if you would like to be notified when the scholarships open next year.

Habit Health's Māori and Pasifika Scholarships intend to assist tertiary students to complete undergraduate study in physiotherapy and occupational therapy or postgraduate study in psychology and occupational health nursing.

What we offer
  • Funding of $500 upon commencement of your second year of tertiary study 
  • Funding of $2000 upon commencement of your final year of study  
  • A paid summer internship at a Habit Health clinic prior to the start of your final year
  • A final year student placement with Habit Heath 
  • Coaching and mentoring from a Habit Health employee in your chosen area of study

Scholarship Applicant Requirements
  • Applications are open to students of Māori or Pacific Island descent who are citizens or permanent residents of New Zealand
  • You must be enrolled in one of the approved tertiary courses below

Our Graduate Programme provides outstanding Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy graduates in their first year of clinical practice the chance to learn about working in their chosen field while being part of our team of highly qualified health and rehabilitation experts. 
 
Graduates gain an understanding of our holistic approach, along with valuable insight into complementary disciplines, through the interdisciplinary rehabilitation pathways we provide our clients so they can get back to living their best life. 


What we offer
You will be offered a permanent position which includes a graduate programme for your first 12-months of employment as detailed below. 
 
Supervision and mentorship
Each graduate will have a senior clinician nominated as their supervisor, meeting on a weekly basis with additional on-the-go supervision, and one-on-one and group mentorship provided. 


Internal Education Programme: Cross-Regional 
We offer a 12-month programme that includes:
  • Shadowing a clinical supervisor
  • Supervised appointments with clients
  • initial rehabilitation strategies for core services
  • Case presentation meetings 
  • Working within a multidisciplinary environment
  • Six monthly rotations (region specific) throughout your region to ensure exposure to a diverse caseload of clients 
  • Weekly in-services with your new grad cohort and experienced clinicians
  • National support group 

External Professional Development Activities 
A plan will be developed for each graduate specifying external professional development activities that will complement our internal programme.  
 
Further development opportunities during the programme include cultural excellence and clinical skills. All employees are also provided with a professional development budget each year which they can utilise towards any work-related study of their choice.
