Our New Zealand Wealth & Private Bank business helps New Zealanders build a better tomorrow, with a strong and safe financial future.
Our range of products and services includes ANZ KiwiSaver (New Zealand’s largest KiwiSaver scheme), Bonus Bonds and a suite of other managed investments.
We manage more than $28billion on behalf of our investors, making us the biggest investment manager in New Zealand outside of the NZ Super scheme and ACC.
Our Private Bank, which provides tailored lending and investment services, was last year recognised as the Best Private Bank in New Zealand at the Global Private Banking Awards.
We have dedicated product and investment management teams, customer experience professionals, risk, legal and advice delivery experts, all working together to help our customers achieve their financial goals.
What to expect in your 8-week Wealth & Private Bank internship
Interns may spend time in:
- KiwiSaver and Managed Funds Product Management
- Investment Management
- Private Bank

Our interns do real and important work that contributes to the business delivering results. As an intern, you will have opportunities to work across teams – not just within the team you are assigned.
To get the most out of your internship it will be important for you to take ownership of your time and make the most of the opportunities that come your way. There are many ways to make your experience more effective and enjoyable, including attending networking events and taking on challenging work or projects.
Grasp all the opportunities presented and you are guaranteed to have a great learning experience!
What makes a good Wealth & Private Bank intern?
We are looking for intern candidates who are inquisitive and eager to learn; who thrive in a changing and challenging environment; who are keen to grasp opportunity and willing to get things done.
With the exception of candidates interested in our Investment Management team, we really don’t mind what degree you are studying for.
Interns in our Investment Management team need excellent numerical and analytical skills. Interns who have been successful in Investment Management in the past have come from degree disciplines including commerce, business, banking, finance, engineering, science, technology, maths and economics.
Regardless of which area you are interested in, what’s most important to us is the type of person you are. At ANZ we look to build a diverse workforce – diverse no just in age and gender, but also seeking diversity of thought. Your interests, hobbies, life experiences and achievements are all every bit as important as your degree subject in making you the person you are, and making your application stand out.
