INNOVATION & GROWTH
KPMG people focus every day on fuelling New Zealand’s prosperity. We believe the work we do with businesses, the public sector and our communities can make a real difference to the health, wealth and well-being of New Zealanders. Our work with the private and public sector recognises the critical importance of being part of building the effectiveness of both sectors role in that prosperity.
KPMG’s Innovation & Growth Advisory division is looking for graduates to join our growing team. Our Innovation & Growth Advisory team supports businesses across the spectrum of sizes - from large publicly listed companies to small startup companies - in navigating the complex and ever changing field of government funding. Currently, the government is overhauling the whole innovation funding ecosystem, resulting in a rapidly evolving field which brings with it many challenges and opportunities. This team operates in the fast moving space of businesses conducting research and development activities to create a growing and vibrant technological sector in New Zealand.
Can Innovation & Growth fuel your future? Definitely if you want to:
· be responsible for delivering high quality research supporting work on engagements to meet the client’s needs
· be at the heart of this reform and create greater access for businesses to government funding to support their innovation
· provide support generally with other similar forms of funding and tools to help businesses grow
Within your first month at KPMG you’ll have:
· met your whole cohort, your buddy and completed a jam packed two day induction
· been on Grad Camp – our culturally immersive induction held in a marae
· begun to understand what does and doesn’t make a business tick
In your first six months at KPMG you’ll have:
· integrated into a talented and vibrant team who teach and support you
· helped navigate some of New Zealand’s largest business compliance requirements
· joined the social club at KPMG and activities like skiing, boat trips and mini golf
By the end of your first year at KPMG you’ll have:
· made connections for life and built on your innovation skillset
· maybe been asked to become a buddy for our new interns or grads
· fuelled New Zealand’s prosperity by doing work that matters
As an Innovation & Growth Graduate you will expand on the skills you have learned at university, but you’ll also learn plenty of new skills.
You will help large businesses understand the innovation happening throughout their organisations, which is often opaque due to their size and complexity; work with SME's to streamline how they manage their access to funding, since this is often not the sole the responsibility of any one individual and help startup companies understand their matrix of government funding options as immediate access to cash often needs to be prioritised.
You will also work with government in developing and implementing policies to achieve national goals of raising New Zealand’s overall investment in innovation.
Even though our priority right now is providing support to the business community and government throughout the current phase of rolling out the R&D Tax Incentive, our team’s long term strategy is to provide support generally with other similar forms of funding and tools to help businesses grow. This supports KPMG’s overall goal of fuelling New Zealand’s prosperity.
You’ll also be provided with all the support and training you need. This means you won’t be thrown in the deep end and you’ll have everything you need to succeed on your career pathway!
Think we can Fuel your Future? Why not come and meet us either at Campus or one of our KPMG offices.
Please note that there is no option to upload a cover letter, as we instead ask you some questions on the application form to get to know you better. If you feel there is anything you haven’t been able to get across in your application however, there is a section at the end where you can add any further brief comments.
