Transpower New Zealand - What We Do

For every future made brighter, for every job we power, in everything we do—we do it for New Zealand. We stand together, tu mai Aotearoa, planning, building, and operating the system that powers our country and lives 24 hours a day, seven days a week. We’re proud to have done this in one form or another for over 100 years.

Transpower connects New Zealanders to their power system, through safe, smart solutions for today and tomorrow.  As the country's System Operator, we also co-ordinate and schedule the generation needed at any point in time to meet consumer demand, and ensure our  electricity supply is reliable and secure.

The power behind our business is our people, who are innately collaborative and offer the individual diversity, skills

and enthusiasm to drive innovation and meet the challenges of keeping the energy flowing to all parts of New Zealand.

As a Transpower Graduate you will become an emerging leader who will play a part in shaping the future of New Zealand’s electricity industry.

As a Graduate Engineer you will enjoy a two-year rotational programme to give you an organisation-wide view, with challenging real work, from day one. Building relationships across the business you will be working in different areas to offer you the opportunity to explore where and how you wish to shape your future with us.
