About Avid.legal
Avid.legal is a specialist tech, corporate, and commercial firm in Wellington. Our key areas of work broadly fall into 5 categories:
  • tech law (contracts, regulation, privacy);
  • venture capital (capital raising/investments for start-ups and high growth companies);
  • M & A (buying & selling companies);
  • procurement (processes and contracts to buy expensive assets or services); and
  • general corporate/commercial advice (company ownership, governance, contracts).

Many of our clients are involved in the technology sector, which provides a real opportunity to kick-start your legal career. We pride ourselves as being a collaborative, forward thinking, and an (almost) paperless office.

Graduate Opportunity
We’re seeking a recent/soon-to-be law graduate to join our team as a law clerk. Applications can be made up to Saturday 21 September. We expect the position to commence in February 2020 (but can be flexible around this).

The successful applicant will be given opportunities to have a go at flexing their legal brain, receive great exposure to legal work, and will work with all members of the Avid.legal team. We also offer a weekly training schedule led by our experienced team members, and focused on developing legal and business knowledge. We pay competitive market salaries, and we’ll support you through profs if you haven’t completed it (financially, and time-wise).

We’re looking for someone that is eager to learn, up for a challenge, and has good banter. If you’re not afraid of hard work and have a strong academic transcript with a well-rounded CV, we’d love to hear from you.

Check out our website to get a feel for the firm, and our work (at www.avid.legal). If you can see yourself as part of our team, send your CV, academic transcript, and a cover letter to murray.whyte@avid.legal and mary.sullivan@avid.legal by Saturday 21 September.

In your cover letter, we’d like you to tell us:
  • a bit about yourself;
  • why you’re applying;
  • the song you would add to our office playlist; and
  • your usual coffee order.

We look forward to receiving your application!

Applications can be made up to Saturday 21 September.
