About the role

Join our inbound service team as a Service Consultant within the Contact Centre, you will be the first point of contact for new and existing customers over the phone. You will be delivering excellent service and building great relationships with 60 to 70 customers every day.  This is a fantastic opportunity to start a banking career with ANZ. We have a strong focus on coaching, staff development and internal promotions which will give you the skills and experience to develop into further roles at ANZ. We are there when our customers need us, and for this intake the following shifts are available: 

  • Start date: Monday 22nd August & Monday 29th August 2022 (We will be recruiting 2x groups for this role and will discuss which start date works best for you)
  • Shifts: Variety of shifts available, all including one weekend day.
  • Hours: Start between 8:00am and 1:00pm, finishing between 4:00pm and 9:00pm, working 7.5 hours per day (5 days per week), 37.5 hours per week. (Please note there are no part-time or daytime/standard business hours shifts)
  • Training: Initial 6 weeks of full-time training from start date, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 4:00pm (Monday 22nd August group) & Monday to Friday 9:00am to 5:00pm (Monday 29th August group) before moving into normal hours and days of work for approximately two months. You will then subsequently complete an additional 2 weeks of full-time training, With the same start times as your initial training period
  • Role Location: Auckland, Sylvia Park
  • Role Type: Permanent, Full-time

What will your day look like

In this role, you would have the opportunity to:

  • Receive inbound calls from new and existing customers, assisting with their banking needs;
  • Build positive relationships with ANZ customers by ensuring their banking experience with us is easy, efficient and accurate;
  • Demonstrate living the ANZ Values with customers and colleagues 


You will be supported with an initial (fully paid) 6 week training course and ongoing coaching to help you develop and hone all of the skills you will need to be successful.

About You

To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following:

  • Prior customer service experience, ideally from retail, hospitality or Contact Centre
  • Natural desire to deliver a great service experience every time and be capable of connecting with a diverse range of people;
  • A clear, well-spoken phone manner and a desire to learn in a dynamic environment; and
  • With your naturally empathetic and resilient nature you’ll be able to stay positive even when the pressure may be on.
